The Purpose of this policy statement

Dragonfly Tuition Ltd takes its responsibility towards safeguarding all children and young people seriously. We believe that we have the responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people, to keep them safe and to practise in a way that protects them.

 

Purpose and Scope  

The purpose of this policy statement is:  

• To protect the children and young people who receive tutoring services from       Dragonfly Tuition Ltd from harm.  

• To respond to any allegations and/ or any concerns relating to the welfare of a     child or young adult for whom we provide tutoring services.

•  To ensure that safeguarding protocols are up-to-date and understood by all. ​

 

This policy applies to anyone working on behalf of Dragonfly Tuition Ltd. This policy will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis or earlier if there is a change in safeguarding protocols. It should also be read alongside ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ 2025 Statutory guidance for schools and colleges (Part 1). 

 

Responsibilities  

At Dragonfly Tuition Ltd, we have a responsibility towards the safety and wellbeing of the students we tutor. This responsibility includes:  

• Ensuring that our tutors are in receipt of an up to date DBS check which is renewed every year.  

• Ensuring our tutors undertake appropriate safeguarding training at least once every two years.  

• Endeavouring to keep up to date with any new information about safeguarding and child protection and will update this policy to include any changes  

• Reporting any safeguarding concerns to the relevant bodies. ​

We will seek to keep children and young people safe by:  

• Valuing listening to and respecting them  

• Appointing a nominated child protection lead for children and young people and a deputy. Adopting child protection and safeguarding best practice through our    policies, procedures and code of conduct for our tutors.  

• Ensuring all tutors are aware and understand the best practice relating to online safety.  

• Providing effective management for our tutors through supervision, support,    training and quality assurance measures so that they know about and follow our    policies, procedures and behaviour codes confidently and competently.  

• Recruiting and selecting tutors safely, ensuring all necessary checks are made    recording and storing and using information professionally and securely in line    with data protection legislation and guidance. ​

 

Online Safety

Dragonfly Tuition Ltd ensure that our tutors are familiar with Government guidance on online safety. Refer to Keeping children safe in education 2025 publishing.service.gov.uk paragraphs 134-139. This should be read alongside Dragonfly Tuition Ltd Data Protection Policy.
