Hi there!
My name is Lizzie and I’m an actor, writer, and experienced tutor with a passion for supporting students of all ages and abilities in their unique learning journeys.
I pride myself on my strength and success in teaching English Literature/Language and Drama & Theatre Studies. I have a track record of helping students meet their academic goals, achieve and exceed their target grades and, most importantly, develop their confidence!
My teaching style is always nurturing and collaborative. I’m here to respond to the needs of the individual, and support them in a range of areas – whether that’s classwork, coursework or exam prep. My goal is to help pupils take ownership of their own learning, and feel a sense of pride in the work they produce!
I have gained valuable experience working with students with a range of SEND requirements, from ADHD and autism to visual impairments and conditions affecting mobility. Having grown up with cerebral palsy myself, and working closely over the last couple of years with students with additional and complex needs, I can relate on both a personal and professional level to how shortcomings in the school SEND system can impact a child's confidence. I can also see how this prevent them from realising their full potential. I feel really proud to be part of Dragonfly Tuition Ltd as it is so committed to addressing this issue, and championing those fantastic students who, (as Claire and Amanda put it), 'don't know how good they are - yet'.
